I wonder if the bands are as large today as they were almost 30 years ago. I read that some beam counter in the civil service decided the army didn't really need so many bands or such big bands. I remember this so well, as a Scot from Highland Perthshire, to see our famous Perthshire regiment the Black Watch partake in the handover made the blood leap.
